About this role

Voyager Technologies seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and support aerospace and solid rocket propulsion hardware from concept through production. The role combines mechanical design, structural analysis, and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid environment across multiple locations, requiring 4–10 years of aerospace or defense engineering experience.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, structures, and propulsion hardware applying aerospace and defense standards
  • Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for aerospace and rocket motor systems
  • Perform structural, thermal, stress, fatigue, and vibration analyses to support design decisions
  • Support hardware integration, qualification testing, and root-cause investigations for aerospace systems
  • Collaborate with propulsion, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to ensure designs are producible and compliant
  • Resolve manufacturing issues, evaluate nonconformances, and implement design improvements

What they're looking for

  • 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing development
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis
  • Structural and thermal analysis (FEA, ANSYS preferred)
  • Solid rocket motor and aerospace propulsion design experience
  • Design-for-manufacturability and configuration control
  • Technical requirements interpretation and cross-functional communication
  • Mechanical engineering fundamentals (structural mechanics, materials, loads)
  • Hardware integration and testing support
