About this role

Voyager Technologies seeks a Propulsion Engineer II to advance rocket propulsion systems for sub-orbital VTVL vehicles in Mojave, CA. You'll handle end-to-end propulsion development—from component sizing and analysis through design, fabrication, and testing—working collaboratively with a joint propulsion team.

What you'll do

  • Design and test rocket propulsion systems including turbomachinery, combustion devices, valves, and feed systems
  • Size propulsion components and perform trade studies using fluid-thermal modeling tools
  • Create solid models and component specifications for fabrication and vendor procurement
  • Develop and execute test plans, then analyze results for components and full systems
  • Support rocket engine and component testing operations
  • Write technical reports and present findings to engineering teams

  • Propulsion system design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and testing
  • Fluid and thermal analysis with GFSSP, Amesim, or Thermal Desktop
  • Solid modeling with Solidworks
  • Fluid system component design and specification
  • Cryogenic propulsion systems (liquid oxygen and methane)
  • Python, C/C++, or Matlab programming
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (ANSYS FLUENT)
  • Rocket turbopump experience
