About this role
Voyager Technologies seeks a senior Systems Engineer – Project Engineer V to serve as the chief technical authority and strategic leader for complex defense and aerospace programs. You'll oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams, direct system architecture and integration strategies, and ensure alignment with customer objectives and DoD requirements while mentoring engineering talent and driving organizational process improvements.
What you'll do
- Lead large, multi-phase defense and aerospace programs as chief project engineer or senior technical lead
- Define system architecture, integration, and verification strategies aligned with mission and customer objectives
- Oversee engineering execution across multiple Integrated Product Teams and major subcontractors for cost, schedule, and technical compliance
- Chair or support major design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and manage technical performance metrics
- Serve as primary engineering interface to executive management and DoD customers for technical interchange and milestone reviews
- Mentor project engineers and functional leads while driving organizational engineering process improvements and best practices
