About this role

Lead controls engineering for a rare-earth magnet manufacturing facility expansion, owning industrial automation systems from design through commissioning. You'll program and integrate PLCs, robots, and CNC equipment across finishing operations while ensuring safety compliance and conducting factory acceptance tests.

What you'll do

  • Program, debug, and commission Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and other industrial control systems for grinding, wire saw, EDM, coating, and inspection equipment
  • Integrate and commission robotic cells (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka) including tooling, vision, motion coordination, and PLC-to-robot handshaking
  • Perform risk assessments per ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, and ANSI/RIA standards; specify and validate safety functions at FAT
  • Configure PLC, robot, CNC, and SCADA/MES communications with tag mapping, alarming, and data acquisition
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to verify functional and safety compliance
  • Integrate inspection and analytical instrumentation into cell control with measurement-to-reject interlocks and SPC data flow
