Product Quality Engineer
About this role
Vulcan Elements seeks a Product Quality Engineer to manage customer quality requirements from development through production for rare-earth permanent magnets serving defense, aerospace, and automotive industries. You'll translate customer specifications into actionable inspection and testing protocols, oversee qualifications (PPAP/FAI), and serve as the technical quality bridge between customers and internal teams.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end customer product qualification including PPAP, FAI, and validation plans with supporting documentation
- Build and maintain qualification plans with required samples, tests, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and approval gates
- Translate customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements into inspection methods and production control plans
- Establish and maintain authoritative records of customer product quality requirements, revisions, and special characteristics
- Lead quality onboarding for new customers including supplier portals, certifications, and documentation requirements
- Execute sample preparation, testing, and delivery; monitor production compliance and investigate non-conformances
