About this role
Waymo is seeking software engineering interns (BS/MS level) for summer 2027 to work on autonomous driving technology. You'll analyze differences between machine learning and production behavior in the Waymo Driver system, identifying and porting desirable patterns to improve the autonomous driving stack.
What you'll do
- Analyze behavioral differences between ML models and production systems
- Perform cluster analysis on dozens of examples to identify patterns and trends
- Evaluate whether identified clusters represent desirable or undesirable behaviors
- Port successful ML behaviors into production autonomous driving systems
- Collaborate with software and systems engineers on robotics projects
- Contribute to Level 4 autonomous driving technology development
