About this role
Waymo is seeking a graduate-level intern to design and build real-time diagnostic infrastructure for autonomous vehicle communication networks. You'll develop Python-based monitoring systems, automated verification pipelines, and security validation workflows across multiple vehicle platforms while leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
What you'll do
- Design and build Python infrastructure for real-time diagnostics and health monitoring of vehicle communication networks (CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet)
- Develop automated verification and validation pipelines to evaluate network communication and system health across test benches and vehicle fleets
- Create diagnostic checks and monitoring workflows for in-vehicle network security and cryptographic mechanisms
- Use AI code generation tools to rapidly prototype, test, and scale modular diagnostic software
- Collaborate with Systems Architects, Network Engineers, and Vehicle Security Engineers to analyze network data and troubleshoot integration issues
- Support multi-platform vehicle requirements refinement through data analysis and testing
