Vehicle Safety - Occupant Protection Engineer
About this role
Lead the development and validation of vehicle occupant protection systems from concept through testing, translating safety requirements into engineered solutions. You'll manage load cases end-to-end, oversee virtual and physical testing programs, and drive correlation between simulation and real-world performance for an autonomous vehicle platform.
What you'll do
- Own load cases end-to-end: convert safety targets into testable metrics and drive restraint system development through integration
- Develop and execute virtual and physical DVP plans, tracking progress against schedule
- Analyze test results and provide engineering feedback at project gateways
- Define test requests, matrices, instrumentation, and acceptance criteria with validation teams
- Establish CAE-to-physical test correlation and troubleshoot performance gaps
- Create and maintain Jira tickets for issues and track resolution to closure
