About this role
Abridge seeks an Assistant General Counsel focused on AI and machine learning products to serve as primary legal advisor for teams developing the company's clinical AI technologies. You'll navigate novel legal challenges spanning model development, data governance, AI liability, and emerging regulation while building scalable legal frameworks for a fast-moving healthcare AI company.
What you'll do
- Advise product and AI teams on legal risks in model development, agentic workflows, and multimodal healthcare outputs
- Identify and design mitigations for AI-specific legal issues including model behavior, IP, training data rights, and liability
- Develop flexible legal processes and contract language adapted to frontier AI development pace
- Lead privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and data governance frameworks for AI systems
- Serve as internal AI legal expert and represent company positions to regulators and industry groups
- Partner across legal, product, and compliance teams on responsible AI principles and human oversight
