About this role
Accenture Federal Services seeks an AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy large language model and retrieval-augmented generation systems for U.S. federal government clients. The role combines modern generative AI development with foundational machine learning and software engineering, supporting both prototyping and production deployment in defense and national security contexts.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain RAG pipelines including document ingestion, embeddings, vector storage, and LLM orchestration
- Build and optimize LLM applications for classification, summarization, Q&A, and workflow automation
- Apply software engineering and ML fundamentals to ensure performance, reliability, and security
- Implement and tune traditional ML models including regression, clustering, and classical NLP when needed
- Integrate cloud services (Azure/AWS) and containerized workloads; collaborate with data engineers and architects
- Evaluate model performance and maintain MLOps practices for production-grade systems
