About this role
Join Zoox's Core Data Science team to build and maintain a fleet simulation platform that enables data scientists to develop, test, and evaluate autonomous fleet algorithms before deployment. You'll architect a cohesive simulation environment used across the company to measure algorithm impact on fleet efficiency and operational performance.
What you'll do
- Design and develop the fleet simulation platform architecture and core infrastructure
- Integrate multiple algorithm components (dispatch, routing, vehicle assignment) into a unified simulation environment
- Build generalized mechanisms and abstractions for algorithm evaluation and performance measurement
- Identify gaps in the simulation system and implement solutions to improve usability and coverage
- Collaborate with data scientists to understand their needs and enable their research workflows
- Optimize simulation performance to handle large-scale autonomous fleet datasets
