About this role
Join a U.S. Navy contractor as a Platform Engineer to bridge applications and platform infrastructure in a DevOps and security-focused role. You'll architect and maintain cloud-native systems, mentor engineers, and influence strategic technical decisions while supporting mission-critical government operations.
What you'll do
- Act as liaison between application teams and platform teams, advocating best practices and facilitating communication
- Solve complex technical problems spanning multiple knowledge domains with expertise in 1-2 key technologies
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code and build/maintain Kubernetes clusters on various distributions
- Apply security automation and cloud-native deployment practices with emphasis on vulnerability remediation
- Contribute to strategic planning aligning technological advancements with mission objectives
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing and code reviews while identifying process improvement gaps
