About this role
Join Affirm's Identity Decisioning team as a Backend Software Engineer II to build systems that validate consumer identity and ensure regulatory compliance across all Affirm products. You'll work on distributed backend services handling KYC protocols while collaborating with product, compliance, and fraud teams to scale financial solutions.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and launch backend systems for identity validation and regulatory compliance
- Break down larger projects into tasks and deliver work across multiple phases with team collaboration
- Partner with product, compliance, and engineering teams to balance technical constraints with business needs
- Create and monitor metrics to maintain system operations and availability
- Participate in code reviews, debug complex systems, and mentor peers through feedback
- Support on-call efforts and operational reliability for team services
