Software Engineer, Payments

About this role

Join Aiwyn's payments platform team as a senior engineer to build reliable money-movement systems for accounting firms. You'll own the infrastructure behind invoicing, collections, and reconciliation while collaborating closely with domain experts to deliver mission-critical financial systems at scale.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain services and infrastructure that process payments reliably and securely
• Develop and extend APIs for payment processors, banks, and firm integrations
• Partner with accounting and payments domain experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Own projects end-to-end from specification through shipping and scaling
• Design systems that handle complex edge cases and ensure accuracy across jurisdictions
• Iterate on confidence metrics and improve system reliability cycles

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience
• Fintech and payments systems expertise
• Full-stack capability (backend, frontend, infrastructure)
• Experience bridging technical and non-technical domain experts
• AI-native development fluency
• Systems thinking in high-correctness environments
• API design and integration experience
• Financial systems and ledger knowledge
