About this role

Benesch, a multi-disciplined engineering firm, seeks a Traffic Engineer to join its growing team across Kansas offices. You will conduct traffic analysis, safety studies, and design traffic management plans for municipal and DOT clients using industry-standard software and CAD tools.

What you'll do

  • Collect and analyze traffic data for engineering studies using software like Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, Sidra, and Vissim
  • Conduct traffic safety and capacity analyses for intersections, interchanges, corridors, and development impact studies
  • Design traffic management, pavement marking, signage, and signal plans for construction and permanent installations
  • Develop geometric alternatives to improve traffic operations and safety under supervision
  • Prepare reports organizing analysis results according to agency standards
  • Perform field site visits and collaborate with municipal and DOT clients
