Compliance Engineer
About this role
Retell AI seeks a Compliance Engineer to design and implement technical controls, automate compliance workflows, and ensure enterprise-grade security across SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and other frameworks. You'll bridge Engineering, Security, and Legal teams to translate compliance requirements into scalable systems that support rapid growth without compromising security.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain technical controls for compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA
- Automate compliance workflows, evidence collection, access reviews, and security checks
- Partner with Engineering and Security to implement controls around IAM, infrastructure, data protection, and logging
- Support audits by managing technical evidence collection and coordinating with auditors
- Respond to security questionnaires and customer due diligence requests
- Identify compliance gaps and build scalable systems to address them

- Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and other compliance frameworks
- Security fundamentals: IAM, encryption, networking, logging, vulnerability management
- Cloud security (AWS, GCP experience preferred)
- Compliance automation tools (Vanta, Drata, Wiz, Okta familiarity a plus)
- Technical communication for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Infrastructure and access control management
- Analytical problem-solving and gap analysis
