About this role

Allen Control Systems seeks a Flight Dynamics & Controls Engineer to develop aerodynamic models, design flight control laws, and conduct system identification for a high-performance fixed-wing UAV platform. This individual contributor role requires deep expertise in both classical control theory and aeronautics to support an autonomous defense system.

What you'll do

  • Build and refine aerodynamic models using tools like AVL to improve simulator fidelity
  • Design and tune flight control laws including altitude, airspeed, and waypoint-following loops
  • Develop optimized flight test maneuvers for system identification and data collection
  • Analyze flight test data to validate model predictions against real-world behavior
  • Implement control system implementations and improvements
  • Contribute to broader guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) system development
