Design Engineer Body Exterior - Rear Wiper, Backlite

About this role

Design Engineer specializing in rear wiper and backlite exterior body components for automotive applications. Responsible for end-to-end development from concept through production, including 3D CAD design, requirements validation, manufacturing feasibility, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do

• Create and develop vehicle body exterior components using 3DX CAD with independent design capability
• Apply GD&T principles and perform dimensional variation analysis to ensure design robustness
• Validate designs through CAE, physical testing, and analytical methods to confirm integrity
• Assess manufacturing feasibility, tooling requirements, and supplier assembly capabilities
• Manage engineering documentation, PLM systems, BOM control, and design data release processes
• Track landed costs, vendor tooling, and financial impacts to program business case
