Design Engineer III
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Engineer III to lead conceptual and detailed design of aerospace structures and mechanical systems for defense and commercial applications. You'll create CAD models, perform engineering analyses, mentor junior staff, and support manufacturing and deployment activities while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
What you'll do
- Lead conceptual and detailed design of aerospace structures, mechanisms, and mechanical systems aligned with customer requirements
- Create 2-D layout drawings and 3-D solid models using SolidWorks for mechanical systems
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to validate safe operation and regulatory compliance
- Verify design calculations and analysis performed by peers and junior engineers
- Develop comprehensive engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, and inspection specifications
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support to internal teams, suppliers, and customers
