Electrical Systems Engineer
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer in Las Vegas to lead root cause analysis investigations on vehicle electrical failures, bridge design engineering and field technicians, and drive reliability improvements for public vehicle fleets. You'll combine hands-on troubleshooting with formal problem-solving methodologies to prevent recurring issues and influence future vehicle designs.
What you'll do
- Lead cross-functional RCA investigations for high-severity electrical failures using industry-standard methodologies
- Implement temporary containment and permanent corrective actions for systemic failures
- Present failure analysis findings to hardware, firmware, and software teams to improve vehicle reliability
- Collaborate directly with service technicians on complex repairs and component replacements
- Train technicians on CAN tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electrical safety protocols
- Document failure analysis and track effectiveness of implemented solutions over time

- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Wiring schematic interpretation and wire harness expertise

- CAN network analysis tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, PCAN)
- Cross-functional communication and mentorship
