Neros Technologies
Hardware Design and Test Engineer - Board
About this role
Neros seeks a Hardware Design and Test Engineer to develop board-level manufacturing test solutions for high-performance unmanned systems, from prototype through high-volume production. You'll design test fixtures, drive design-for-testability strategies, and collaborate across teams to validate PCBAs and electronic assemblies while optimizing quality and yield.
What you'll do
- Design and develop board-level manufacturing test hardware including bed-of-nails fixtures and custom test equipment for PCBA validation
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define design-for-testability (DFT) strategies and ensure adequate test access and coverage
- Define comprehensive board-level test strategies spanning ICT, functional test, programming, calibration, and metrology systems
- Own hardware design for test equipment including fixture electronics, interface boards, signal conditioning, and measurement systems
- Deploy, qualify, and sustain test solutions at contract manufacturers and internal production facilities
- Analyze test coverage, yield performance, and failure trends to drive continuous manufacturing quality improvements
What they're looking for
- PCBA manufacturing test strategies (ICT, bed-of-nails, flying probe, JTAG boundary scan)
- Design for Testability (DFT) and test point strategy development
- Custom test fixture and interface board design and debugging
- Electronic circuit design, signal integrity, and failure analysis
- Lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers)
- Python-based test frameworks and automated test software architectures
- Manufacturing quality metrics and root-cause analysis (FPY, yield, GR&R, Cpk)
- Cross-functional collaboration with electrical, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams
