Torrance, California, United States$112.5k–$157.5kmidAdded today

About this role

Neros seeks a Hardware Test Engineer to own manufacturing test stations for autonomous systems and drones, combining hands-on hardware debugging with test automation development. You'll bridge hardware and software validation, scale production testing, and drive reliability improvements across complex embedded systems.

What you'll do

  • Own assigned manufacturing test stations as DRI, managing hardware integration, bring-up, troubleshooting, calibration, and continuous improvement
  • Debug hardware and test failures using oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and other lab instrumentation to isolate root causes
  • Develop test software by extending existing frameworks, writing Python scripts, and automating manual procedures for embedded and hardware systems
  • Partner with Electrical Engineering and Firmware teams to bridge hardware-software boundaries, improve test coverage, and enable rapid production scaling
  • Analyze production test data, yield trends, and failure modes to drive improvements in station reliability and product quality
  • Support PCBAs, power systems, sensors, and communication interfaces across autonomous systems and ground control platforms

What they're looking for

  • Hardware test station development and ownership
  • Electrical lab equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, logic analyzers
  • Test automation and scripting (Python or similar)
  • Board-level hardware architecture and schematics
  • Communication protocols: CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet
  • Root-cause analysis and failure mode investigation
  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Embedded systems and PCBA debugging
