About this role

Senior Electronics Engineer needed to design, develop, and test advanced power electronics and control systems for commercial aerospace applications, including motor drives, power converters, and valve controllers. Lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure designs meet stringent airworthiness and customer requirements.

What you'll do

  • Design and analyze power electronics circuits including DC-DC converters, motor drives, and AC/DC power converters using SPICE simulation and schematic tools
  • Perform MATLAB/Simulink modeling to develop control algorithms and system-level analysis
  • Conduct thermal analysis, component derating, and worst-case load analysis to ensure reliability and margins
  • Create hardware design documentation, design verification test procedures, and validate designs through board bring-up and testing
  • Lead or support small to medium projects independently, review peer work, and mentor junior engineers
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and OEM customers to ensure designs meet airworthiness standards and schedule goals

What they're looking for

  • Power electronics design (DC-DC converters, rectifiers, gate drives)
  • Circuit simulation tools (PSPICE, Altium, OrCAD, PSIM)
  • MATLAB/Simulink and control system modeling
  • EMI filter and magnetics design
  • Thermal and reliability analysis
  • Test equipment operation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies)
  • Communication protocols understanding (CAN, etc.)
  • Aerospace/DO-254 design principles
