Mechanical Systems Engineer
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to define and coordinate complex mechanical and electromechanical system architectures, manage cross-disciplinary interfaces, and lead trade studies for advanced product development in aerospace, medical, and automotive sectors.
What you'll do
- Define system and subsystem requirements, boundaries, assumptions, and interface specifications
- Coordinate inputs across mechanical, electrical, thermal, fluids, materials, manufacturing, and CAE disciplines
- Lead trade studies balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability
- Assess backward compatibility and revalidation impacts of proposed design changes
- Develop verification plans and requirement traceability matrices for staged implementation
- Document technical rationale, risks, and implementation constraints for stakeholders
