About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks an MLT Lab Test Engineer to lead component and powertrain testing activities within automotive validation organizations. You'll oversee test setups, fixture design, and DVP&R execution while collaborating with CAE and engineering teams to ensure vehicle system reliability and performance.

What you'll do

  • Lead and execute component, system-level, and powertrain testing programs within Release and Validation organizations
  • Oversee test setup design and execution to meet DVP&R requirements
  • Support fixture design and fabrication for diverse test scenarios including powertrain components
  • Develop test plans, bogeys, and block cycles for fatigue and vibration testing
  • Coordinate with CAE, Release Engineering, and Test Engineering teams on validation programs
  • Perform root cause analysis and replicate field failures through test-based investigation

  • Automotive suspension and powertrain system knowledge (EDM and ICE)
  • Lab instrumentation operation (loadcells, LVDTs, oscilloscopes, strain gauge systems)
  • Servo hydraulic test system control (MTS, MOOG systems)
  • Time history analysis and road load data interpretation
  • CAD and engineering software (Teamcenter, AutoCAD, LabVIEW)
  • Fixture design for fatigue and vibration testing
  • Data analysis tools (MARS, Somat, nCode, Excel)
  • GD&T interpretation and precision measurement
