Auburn Hills, Michigan, United StatesmidAdded today

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Plant Modeling & Simulation Engineer to develop and maintain high-fidelity plant models supporting virtual validation, system integration, and model-based development across automotive domains. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, reusable models while ensuring alignment with system requirements and verification workflows.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain 0D/1D plant models for physical systems (propulsion, chassis, ADAS, infotainment) at appropriate fidelity levels
  • Validate and correlate models against requirements and test data; support model reduction for simulation efficiency
  • Integrate plant models into XIL workflows and support virtual testing, requirement validation, and system verification
  • Collaborate with controls, system design, and testing teams to align plant models with control strategies and cross-domain integration needs
  • Follow modeling best practices, participate in model reviews and quality checks, and maintain documentation and version control
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for model fidelity, reusability, scalability, and simulation performance

What they're looking for

  • MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent modeling tools
  • 0D/1D physical system modeling
  • Model-Based Development (MBD) and virtual testing methods
  • xIL environments (MIL/SIL/HIL)
  • Scripting language (Python, C, or similar)
  • CI/CD tools and methods
  • Version control and configuration management
