Safety Test Labs - Impact Safety Test Engineer

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks an Impact Safety Test Engineer to plan and execute vehicle and component impact testing while ensuring compliance with domestic and global safety regulations. The role involves managing test data systems, coordinating with equipment suppliers, and developing new test methods, with flexibility for shift work and weekend availability.

What you'll do

• Plan, prepare, and perform full-size vehicle, component, and occupant sled impact safety tests
• Review impact test regulations and coordinate test procedures with technicians and mechanics
• Configure and validate test data collection systems to capture required metrics
• Conduct physical test preparation and execution, managing vehicle and test hardware
• Develop and implement new test methods and equipment improvements
• Interface with equipment suppliers and internal teams for calibrations and software updates
