Validation Engineer, Low Voltage Components

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Validation Engineer to establish and execute comprehensive validation processes for low-voltage vehicle components, ensuring durability, reliability, and safety targets are met. You'll manage testing resources, analyze failure modes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support autonomous mobility development.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute test plans for mechanical, electrical, and environmental failure modes
• Collaborate with design engineers to define and capture validation requirements
• Select appropriate test assets, data acquisition systems, and sensors
• Analyze test data and provide clear reporting of results
• Support DFMEA activities to ensure comprehensive failure mode coverage
• Manage internal, external, and supplier-led validation activities

What they're looking for

• Test and validation (3-6 years experience with connectors, terminals, harnesses, low-voltage components)
• Requirements management tools (Polarion or equivalent)
• Lab equipment operation (DAQ, oscilloscopes, power supplies, thermocouples)
• Automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, A2B communication)
• Production processes (crimping, welding, stamping, molding)
• USCAR, LV, and ISO automotive standards knowledge
• Data analysis and technical reporting
• Project management tools (JIRA, Kanban)
