Embedded Systems Software Engineer

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Embedded Systems Software Engineer to develop firmware for tactical reconnaissance and strike drones (Group 1-3). You'll create robust microcontroller software, debug hardware-firmware integration issues, and collaborate across teams to deliver operational systems from prototype through customer deployment.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver firmware for microcontrollers with focus on reliability and performance
• Create reusable device drivers and integrate system-level features
• Debug and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
• Collaborate with Electrical, Software, and Product Design teams across development lifecycle
• Work with Test Engineering to optimize production manufacturing processes
• Support field testing and identify firmware feature opportunities with program impact

What they're looking for

• Embedded systems firmware development (5+ years)
• C programming and language standards
• Microcontroller integration with analog and digital sensors
• Bare-metal and RTOS environment development
• IC bus protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)
• Hardware debugging (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
• Board bringup and software development best practices
• Technical communication and cross-functional collaboration
