About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop hardware for defense systems including aircraft, missiles, and ground platforms. You'll own mechanical designs from requirements through production, performing analyses, building prototypes, and collaborating across electrical and software teams on complex integrated systems.

What you'll do

  • Own hardware design lifecycle from initial requirements through low-rate production handoff
  • Lead technical efforts to define requirements, propose solutions, and establish verification methodologies
  • Perform hand calculations and FEA analysis to develop, assess, and optimize mechanical designs
  • Build prototypes, execute hardware test plans, and conduct analysis to validate designs
  • Integrate complex thermal solutions, RF hardware, PCBAs, and cabling into cohesive mechanical systems
  • Support customer-facing hardware demonstrations and translate feedback into design requirements

What they're looking for

  • CAD proficiency (NX, Solidworks, or equivalent) with high-quality engineering drawings
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and hand calculations for mechanical design
  • ASME Y14.5 GD&T and engineering drawing standards
  • Hands-on fabrication and prototyping with root-cause analysis capabilities
  • Thermal management design (passive and active solutions)
  • PCBA and electronics integration into mechanical assemblies
  • Manufacturing processes (CNC machining, composites, sheet metal, injection molding, 3D printing)
  • Cross-functional collaboration with electrical and software engineers
