About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop support systems for autonomous underwater vehicles, including launch/recovery mechanisms, handling equipment, and maintenance solutions. You'll collaborate across vehicle design, field operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust deployment and mission execution in challenging maritime environments.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver launch, recovery, handling, transportation, and testing equipment for autonomous underwater vehicles
- Select, qualify, and manage vendors for commercial off-the-shelf components and outsourced manufacturing
- Define requirements, propose solutions, and establish evaluation methodologies for support systems
- Lead design reviews, conduct structural analysis, and oversee prototype hardware testing
- Partner with electrical and software teams to integrate reliable, cost-effective mechanical systems
- Contribute to team processes, templates, and engineering standards
