About this role

Anduril Industries is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop a cutting-edge soldier-mounted Army vision system integrating multispectral sensors, compute, and thermal management. You'll lead prototyping and evaluation efforts while meeting strict SWAP-C (Size, Weight, Power, Cost) requirements and prioritizing soldier comfort and durability in tactical environments.

What you'll do

  • Design mechanical systems for soldier-worn vision devices combining sensors, compute, and thermal management
  • Develop prototypes and conduct evaluations meeting military SWAP-C constraints
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis to inform design trade studies and concepts
  • Manage CAD models for complex assemblies and produce engineering drawings for manufacturing
  • Balance human factors, ergonomics, and comfort with packaging and performance requirements
  • Collaborate on material selection and manufacturing process optimization for metals and composites
