About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design cutting-edge soldier-borne vision systems integrating multispectral sensors, thermal management, and ballistic protection. You'll lead prototyping and evaluation efforts balancing stringent weight, power, and size constraints with human comfort and durability in tactical environments.

What you'll do

  • Design mechanical systems for soldier-borne Army vision equipment combining sensors, compute, and thermal management
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs for both traditional and additive manufacturing across prototype and production phases
  • Perform structural and thermal analyses to inform concept trades and validate designs against SWAP-C requirements
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and human factors evaluations to ensure comfort and usability in extended tactical wear
  • Manage complex CAD assemblies and produce high-quality engineering drawings and documentation
  • Lead rapid prototyping iterations and evaluate designs with minimal supervision

What they're looking for

  • Mechanical CAD (any platform; NX/Teamcenter preferred)
  • Design for manufacturing (traditional and additive processes)
  • Structural and thermal finite element analysis
  • Ergonomics and human factors design
  • Wearable systems and consumer electronics packaging
  • Materials knowledge (metallics, composites, molding, laminating)
  • Military specifications and MIL-STD requirements
  • 3D printing and rapid prototyping

Benefits

  • Competitive equity grants included in full-time offers
  • Comprehensive health and recovery benefits at little or no cost
  • Top-tier benefits package for full-time employees
