What you'll do

  • Manage heavy metal commodity categories (casting, forging, machining) from new product introduction through full production across business lines
  • Qualify suppliers' production capabilities, facilities, and workforce for approval; assess heavy metal fabrication and large-scale structural competencies
  • Oversee new production tooling and line bring-up at supplier sites to meet performance, quality, and demand requirements
  • Drive capacity expansion and production ramp-up readiness for large-scale forging, casting, and machining operations
  • Establish and review statistical process controls (SPC) for critical heavy metal manufacturing; identify and implement process improvements and cost reductions
  • Support quality engineers in root cause analysis and corrective actions; coordinate with suppliers on issue resolution
