About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Tooling Engineer to design and implement manufacturing tooling, equipment, and production systems for cutting-edge maritime defense vehicles. You'll work cross-functionally to optimize factory layouts, automation, and digital simulations while scaling new production facilities in Costa Mesa, CA.
What you'll do
- Design tooling and equipment integrating with factory machinery, NC systems, and robotic welding to enable lean manufacturing
- Develop and validate tooling concepts using CAD, simulation, and digital twins to meet performance requirements
- Support tooling integration, commissioning, and certification for prototype and production development
- Collaborate with manufacturing, facilities, and suppliers to source and assess equipment solutions
- Conduct hands-on factory floor work communicating with engineers and manufacturing personnel
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with product design, operations, and external vendors on facility and system designs
