About this role

Antares seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer II to serve as the Responsible Engineer for mechanical design of electronic hardware systems supporting advanced nuclear microreactors. You'll design enclosures, racks, mounting hardware, and structural supports while collaborating across electrical, controls, manufacturing, and test teams in a fast-growing clean energy startup.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop mechanical hardware for reactor electronic systems including enclosures, equipment racks, and structural assemblies
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation for production
  • Perform structural, thermal, and environmental engineering calculations to validate mechanical hardware performance
  • Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and test engineers on mechanical interfaces and packaging layouts
  • Support prototype fabrication, testing, design verification, and resolution of manufacturing and field issues
  • Maintain engineering configuration in PDM systems and participate in design reviews throughout product lifecycle
