About this role
Anthropic seeks a Software Engineer to build foundational infrastructure for the Interpretability team, enabling researchers to safely access frontier AI models at scale. You'll design secure, private, and efficient systems spanning security, data management, compute orchestration, and developer tooling while working closely with researchers to understand their needs.
What you'll do
- Design and own shared infrastructure for interpretability research including environments, data systems, and compute tooling
- Lead cross-functional efforts with security, compute, and platform teams to align company-wide solutions with research requirements
- Identify and resolve critical developer experience bottlenecks affecting researcher productivity
- Migrate interpretability methods from research prototypes to reliable production audit pipelines
- Build secure-by-default access patterns and data governance systems for petabyte-scale research data
- Optimize scheduling and resource utilization for large accelerator fleet deployments
