About this role

Apex is hiring a Sensor Systems Engineer to lead satellite sensor products from concept through production, owning design, testing, qualification, and field performance. You'll act as the technical authority managing trade studies, verification campaigns, and production support while collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.

What you'll do

  • Own sensor subsystems through full lifecycle from architecture and design through qualification and production
  • Develop and execute verification, validation, and qualification test campaigns including test plans and procedures
  • Perform system and component trade studies to optimize performance, cost, schedule, and technical risk
  • Support production as Responsible Engineering Authority, providing technical solutions and documentation for issues
  • Conduct failure investigations and root cause analyses to inform future designs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with structures, thermal, optics, avionics, software, and manufacturing teams
