About this role

Apex is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design and qualify propulsion systems for commercial satellite buses. You'll own mechanical designs for thrusters, tanks, manifolds, and fluid systems from concept through flight operations, working across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-growing aerospace startup.

What you'll do

  • Design and integrate propulsion hardware including thrusters, tanks, manifolds, and high-pressure lines
  • Perform structural, vibration, and thermal analyses to support launch and on-orbit environments
  • Create CAD models, technical drawings, and geometric tolerancing for flight hardware
  • Plan and execute propulsion testing including vacuum, pressure, vibration, and thermal qualification
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, integration, and troubleshoot test anomalies
  • Partner with systems teams on requirements, margins, and subsystem interfaces
