About this role

Apex is hiring a Mission Operations Engineer to oversee all aspects of satellite operations, including mission planning, commissioning, anomaly response, and long-term reliability. You'll own the operations roadmap for a satellite bus line and collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure mission success while shaping processes and spacecraft designs.

What you'll do

  • Develop, validate, and execute mission plans and operations products for flight vehicles
  • Lead spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations phases
  • Operate satellites in real time, detect anomalies, and execute safing and recovery procedures
  • Design and implement fault protection strategies for onboard and ground systems
  • Analyze telemetry and mission data to assess spacecraft health and performance
  • Mentor junior engineers and standardize mission operations practices across programs

  • Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
