About this role
Apex seeks a Mechanisms & Actuators Engineer to develop and qualify critical electromechanical systems for commercial satellite platforms, including solar array drive assemblies and reaction wheels. You'll drive design, testing, and integration of flight-proven mechanisms from concept through delivery in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Design, assemble, and test spacecraft electromechanical systems including SADAs, reaction wheels, and deployment actuators
- Own actuator development lifecycle from concept through qualification and flight delivery
- Conduct architecture studies, component selection, and performance analysis for flight mechanisms
- Execute qualification testing and life cycle testing for high-reliability rotary actuators
- Support mechanism integration, hardware troubleshooting, and environmental testing campaigns
- Collaborate with avionics, controls, GNC, and software teams on system interfaces and manufacturing strategies
