About this role

Applied Intuition seeks a Robotic Software Engineer specializing in perception to develop and deploy real-time AI/ML sensor algorithms for autonomous vehicles across defense and commercial domains. You'll integrate multi-sensor systems (EO, IR, radar, lidar, acoustics) into heterogeneous platforms, optimize sensor fusion, and support field demonstrations with DoD customers.

What you'll do

  • Develop and integrate AI/ML perception algorithms onto embedded Linux systems using Python, PyTorch, and C++
  • Design autonomous sensor controllers that fuse data from multiple modalities (EO, IR, radar, lidar, acoustics, RF)
  • Deploy containerized solutions and conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing with performance profiling
  • Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams to enable multi-platform autonomous swarms
  • Support DoD customer engagement during field testing, demonstrations, and requirement gathering
  • Conduct post-processing simulation analysis and implement improvements based on test data and feedback

What they're looking for

  • Machine learning deployment (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, C++)
  • Multi-sensor perception and sensor physics
  • Sensor fusion and tracking algorithms (Kalman filters)
  • Linux and Docker containerization
  • Signal processing for EO, IR, radar, lidar, acoustics
  • Hardware-in-the-loop testing and embedded systems integration
  • Large-scale dataset handling and remote software development
  • Real-time system optimization and profiling

Benefits

  • Work on cutting-edge physical AI for autonomous vehicles
