About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Backend Software Engineer to design and maintain scalable, low-latency services for a remote assistance platform that enables human operators to oversee autonomous vehicles. You'll build the APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure handling real-time streaming, command processing, and vehicle-to-operator communication across distributed systems.
What you'll do
- Design and deploy scalable, low-latency backend services for remote assist session management and real-time data streaming
- Architect cloud infrastructure using protobuf, gRPC, and multi-region AWS deployments
- Implement data persistence layer with NoSQL databases like Redis
- Build data pipelines to ingest, process, and store real-time vehicle data
- Collaborate with onboard software and frontend teams to ensure end-to-end data flow
- Ensure security, reliability, and failover handling with optimized data serialization to minimize latency
