Software Engineer (Drone Stack)
About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Software Engineer to develop and deploy autonomy stacks on drone platforms, integrating hardware and software for defense and commercial missions. You'll conduct SIL/HIL testing, support live flight trials, and partner with autonomy teams to bring autonomous capabilities to real UAS hardware.
What you'll do
- Build and deploy modular autonomy software on embedded Linux platforms for Group 1–5 UAVs
- Integrate autonomy stacks with autopilots, sensors, GPS/INS, datalinks, and ground control stations
- Perform system-level validation through SIL, HIL, and live flight testing
- Diagnose and resolve software and integration issues to maintain system performance
- Collaborate with DoD experts and OEM vendors to field autonomy solutions on aircraft hardware
- Travel 10–20% for on-site integrations, demos, and flight operations

- SIL/HIL testing and real-time systems
- Robotics and autonomy systems integration
- Bash and CMake (nice to have)
