About this role
Varda seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead the design, integration, and testing of avionics systems for the Winnebago spacecraft. You'll oversee electrical architecture from concept through production, manage HITL testbed development, and support mission operations for in-orbit manufacturing and reentry phases.
What you'll do
- Design electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets accounting for power, telemetry, and mass predictions
- Conduct fault analysis and develop FDIR strategies and mitigation plans for avionics systems
- Create comprehensive verification plans for flight and HITL hardware to ensure launch readiness
- Build and operate Hardware-In-The-Loop testbeds simulating spacecraft behavior on the ground
- Oversee avionics system integration and serve as primary contact for integrated systems investigations
- Support mission operations as an avionics specialist, determining system health and reentry commit criteria
What they're looking for
- Electrical system architecture and design
- Python programming and debugging

Likely interview questions
- Describe your experience designing electrical architectures for complex systems—how did you account for power, mass, and reliability constraints?
- Tell us about a time you had to resolve conflicting requirements between different engineering teams. How did you approach it?
