Software Integration Engineer, Self-Driving

Sunnyvale$180k–$220kfulltimemidAdded today

About this role

Applied Intuition seeks a Software Integration Engineer to lead end-to-end autonomy software integration onto vehicle platforms, owning compute architecture, networking, sensors, actuation, and embedded execution. You'll bridge autonomy software with physical vehicles, handling 0-to-1 platform bring-up and 1-to-many scalable deployment with hands-on vehicle and test-track involvement.

What you'll do

  • Lead full-cycle platform integration from system architecture through first engaged drive and handoff
  • Design on-vehicle compute topology, network segmentation, power/data paths, and interfaces between autonomy compute, safety controllers, and vehicle ECUs
  • Build and validate drive-by-wire interfaces and sensor suites (lidar, radar, camera) including drivers, time sync, and calibration
  • Own Linux software baseline, configuration management, and port control software to real-time embedded targets
  • Create bench setups, on-vehicle test procedures, and automation to catch regressions and scale fleet operations
  • Debug across software-to-actuator boundary, set interface standards, mentor engineers, and maintain integration documentation

What they're looking for

  • C/C++ and Python programming with Linux hardware integration
  • Automotive networking (CAN, CAN-FD, automotive Ethernet) and diagnostics
  • Linux systems, networking, configuration management, and machine image building
  • Platform integration and full-cycle hardware-software validation
  • Vehicle networks, sensor integration, and real-time embedded systems
  • Drive-by-wire systems and control interfaces
  • Cross-team collaboration and technical problem-solving
  • VLAN/switching, PTP/gPTP time-sync, and middleware (DDS)
