About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Harness Design Engineer I to design electrical harnesses and support avionics work for spacecraft and space systems. You'll specify connectors, wiring, and documentation while assisting with circuit design, testing, and multi-disciplinary reviews for missions ranging from lunar exploration to national security.

What you'll do

  • Design electrical harnesses including layout, connector selection, wire specification, and shielding for spacecraft
  • Generate pinout tables and interconnect documentation based on spacecraft diagrams
  • Create and maintain bill-of-materials in PLM tools for harness assemblies
  • Develop test plans and procedures for avionics subsystems and components
  • Perform circuit analysis and optimization for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams
