About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Harness Design Engineer II to design electrical harnesses for spacecraft and support avionics development at their Long Beach headquarters. You'll handle harness layout, connector selection, pinout documentation, and collaborate on circuit design, testing, and optimization for satellite and spacecraft programs.
What you'll do
- Design electrical harnesses including layout, connector/wire selection, shielding, and split locations for spacecraft
- Generate pinout tables and interconnect documentation based on spacecraft diagrams
- Create and maintain BOMs for harnesses using PLM tools
- Develop test plans and procedures for avionics subsystems and components
- Perform circuit analysis and optimization for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on electronic assemblies
