About this role
Join Astranis as a Software Defined Radio Hardware Associate for a 12-week salaried role designing, building, and testing advanced radio hardware destined for satellites. You'll work on meaningful projects with lab equipment, write automation code, and integrate systems into spacecraft alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do
- Design, simulate, implement, and test internally developed software defined radio hardware
- Perform hardware bringup and debugging in the lab using advanced instrumentation
- Write code to evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware
- Integrate radio systems into spacecraft while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Conduct hands-on PCB design, assembly, and validation from concept through testing
What they're looking for
- Analog circuit design (op amps, transistors, filters)
- Digital design (FPGAs, SOCs, SERDES, DDR, LVDS)
- Mixed-signal design (ADCs, DACs, power integrity)
- RF design (lineups, S-parameters, impedance matching)
- PCB design and layout (Altium Designer preferred)
- Python or similar programming languages
- Soldering and hardware rework
- Lab bench equipment operation (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer)
Benefits
- Work on hardware destined for orbital satellites
- Access to top-of-the-line lab instruments and equipment
