About this role
Astro Mechanica, an aerospace company developing supersonic aircraft, seeks a Mechanical Integration Engineer to own weight & balance tools, mass properties tracking, and mechanical design standards across the program. You'll work at the aircraft systems level, bridging structures, propulsion, avionics, and flight sciences while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and test teams.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain weight & balance tools and mass properties tracking throughout design, build, and test phases
- Manage mechanical design guidelines and standard selections for materials, hardware, and design elements across teams
- Support structural layout, systems integration, packaging, and aircraft-level configuration development
- Lead design reviews and resolve system-level integration tradeoffs and conflicts
- Interface with PLM systems and inventory management tools to ensure design traceability
- Collaborate with manufacturing and test teams to validate designs and support program milestones
